Amite County Vocational & Technical Complex

The Amite County Vocational and Technical Complex is a secondary career and technical center serving the students enrolled in the Amite County School District. The vocational center is an extension of the Amite County High School and works cooperatively with the school to prepare students for their futures.

Courses offered include: Business Fundamentals, with an emphasis in Business Management; Collision Repair and Refinishing; Construction Technology; Culinary Arts; Health Sciences; and Robotics and Engineering.

Instructors have specialized education and experience in designated fields and utilize state of the art equipment and technology to provide advanced training and skills to students enrolled in their program. High School students who enroll in one or more of the programs offered at the Amite County Vocational Center will have a definite advantage when entering the world of work.


Overview

Enrollment is open to 10-12 grade students.  Amite County High School students entering into the 10th grade and who are at least 15 years of age are required to complete one full academic year of career and technical education.

Students enrolled will receive 2 Carnegie units per year.

All courses offer 1st and 2nd year programs.

Students are strongly encouraged to complete both 1st and 2nd year programs in order to ensure that the students receive the necessary training required for entry level employment or post-secondary study.

College credit may be earned through a statewide articulation based upon a score of 80% or higher on the Mississippi Career Planning Assessment Instrument (MSCPAS).
